Leslie "Les" Gordon Young (born August 19, 1931) was a provincial level politician from Alberta, Canada. He served as a member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta from 1971 to 1989. During his time in the legislature served as a member of the Executive Council of Alberta from 1979 to 1989.
==Political career==
Young ran for a seat to the Alberta Legislature in the 1971 Alberta general election. He picked up the electoral district of Edmonton-Jasper for the Progressive Conservative party who also formed government in that election. Young ran for a second term in office in the 1975 Alberta general election. His popular vote increased he ended up winning the electoral district in a landslide.〔(【引用サイトリンク】 title=Edmonton-Jasper Place results 1975 )〕 He would be re-elected to his third term in the 1979 Alberta general election. After the 1979 election Young was appointed by Premier Peter Lougheed to serve on the Executive Council of Alberta as Minister of Labour. He ran for a fourth term in office in the 1982 Alberta general election.
